Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2015. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Under nutrition of children in Senegal is considered a serious public health problem. Its negative effects are particularly felt in rural areas often characterized by extreme poverty. The objective of this paper is to measure the impact of the construction of basic social infrastructures on the nutritional status of children in these disadvantaged areas. More precisely, between boys and girls, who benefit the most from an improvement in these social infrastructures ? The indicator used for this purpose is the ratio of height for age which provides information on the child’s health. The statistical results show that the situation of girls in terms of nutrition is chronically better than that of boys. However, the estimates of the triple difference allows us to identify a significant positive nutritional effect of social infrastructure program more important for boys than for girls thus enabling nutritional recovery of boys.
