Most of the imports and exports of the landlocked nations of Chad and the Central African Republic (CAR) pass through the port of Douala in Cameroon and make a substantial contribution to its revenues. This paper seeks to show that when the Doba oil fields begin operating, the future oil terminal in Kribi will boost Cameroon's position in the handling of goods destined for landlocked states and in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CAEMC).
