This article revisits analyses carried out some twenty years ago on online information in Réunion (local press) and Mauritius (national press). It looks at how these two island territories in the Indian Ocean came to be connected, and at the work that has since enabled us to understand—in context—the transformations of their news media. The question of the (re)territorialization of online information is addressed. It takes into account the digital reconfigurations of the economy of these regional media outlets in the Indian Ocean, and the resulting changes in journalistic practices and productions. To do this, we revisit the theoretical and methodological framework used two decades ago, with a few adjustments.
