La bipartition entre une dynamica abstracta et une dynamica concreta est récurrente dans la production scientifique leibnizienne en dépit des acquisitions conceptuelles qui – dès la rédaction de la Dynamica de Potentia de 1690 – permettraient de la dépasser. S’appuyant sur l’étude des manuscrits inédits réalisée en vue de la publication de la première édition critique du traité, l’article se propose : 1. d’explorer les raisons de la permanence d’une telle structure à la lumière des travaux logiques et grammaticaux leibniziens sur l’abstrait et le concret – 2. d’offrir au lecteur une contextualisation et une présentation générale de l’œuvre, ainsi qu’un aperçu du nouveau matériau éditorial disponible.

Leibniz’s scientific writings repeatedly mention the bipartition between a dynamica abstracta and a dynamica concreta, although new conceptual tools rendered such a distinction obsolete after the writing of the Dynamica de Potentia in 1690. Relying on the study of unpublished manuscripts – that will lead to the first critical edition of the treatise – this articles aims 1) to show how this enduring bipartition can be understood in the light of Leibniz’s logical and grammatical thoughts on the abstract and the concrete, and 2) to provide a comprehensive overview of the treatise and of  the newly available editorial material.
