Pour penser l’exercice de la poésie, Boileau renonce à sa dimension sacrée et centre l’initiative poétique sur le poète. Pour éclairer une telle position, nous abordons tout d’abord la question de la neutralisation du champ lexical et notionnel de l’inspiration comme transcendance dans son œuvre poétique, puis proposons de suivre les indices d’une nouvelle forme de mouvement inspirant qui se transmet entre créateurs humains et en toute immanence poétique, auquel Boileau donne le nom de sublime.

Boileau’s conceptualisation of poetry gives up on its sacred dimension and makes the poet the centre of poetic initiative. In order to shed light on such a position, we study on the one hand how Boileau neutralises the lexical and notional field of inspiration as transcendence. On the other hand, we trace in Boileau’s works the signs of a new inspiring movement, one that is transmitted immanently from man to man, to which he gives the name of sublime.
