Sur le dialogue et l'interprétation, un point de vue

A partial « dialogue » with other authors shows, more than anything, the diversity of possible ways to « do linguistics ». This article renews attention to some of the same issues covered in the first contribution. The meanings of texts as movements that are seen differently because of their different backgrounds can be only partially explained and shared. This suggests that it is doubtless preferable to talk about « interpretive understanding » rather than a « science of texts ».
