This article explores the concept of mood in functional linguistics of Martinet, with a particular focus on the Oroqen language, which has been underrepresented in linguistic research. We discuss the various linguistic elements used by Oroqen speakers to convey their attitudes, evaluations, and perspectives regarding statements and actions. Modal values in Oroqen cover a wide range of meanings, including ability, permission, desire, and more, and these meanings can vary based on the context in which they are used.
