The Kantian anthropology contradicts the technical approach of rationality that has dominated the self-image of the Western world. Not the effectiveness of the means but the responsibility for final goals is decisive. The Kantian revolution of autonomy requires a teleological intelligibility and not an instrumental intelligibility of the human development of mankind.
