Si la liberté de philosopher est, pour Spinoza, une condition nécessaire de la paix de la république et, en son sein, de l’exercice de la piété, il y a aussi, dans le TT-P, une condition de cette condition : à savoir la prise en compte de la nécessité sociale, historique et anthropologique du complexe théologico-politique : d’où l’importance du trait d’union entre théologique et politique par lequel Spinoza indique à la fois le nœud d’un problème mais aussi l’union adéquate que devra concevoir sa solution.

If the freedom to philosophize is, for Spinoza, a necessary condition for the peace of the republic and, within it, the exercise of piety, there is also, in the TT-P, a condition of this condition : namely, taking into account the social, historical, and anthropological need of the theological-political complex : hence the importance of the link between the theological and political in which Spinoza indicates both the knot of a problem and also the proper union will have to design its solution.
