L’inquiétante étrangeté, si précieuse boussole dès que l’on s’éloigne des rives fermes de la névrose pour s’approcher des contrées imprécises, est reprise ici sous l’angle du regard, décliné de trois façons : d’abord le regard de Louis Jouvet dans la scène mythique de Drôle de drame, qui se termine par la phrase culte : « Bizarre, bizarre… » ; puis le thème de l’Homme de sable, tel qu’il a été décrit par Freud ; et enfin à travers Zineb, qui ne se reconnaissait pas dans le miroir.

The uncanny is a precious a compass allowing us to move from the steady borders of neurosis towards undefined territories. It is considered here from the perspective of the gaze, which is described in three ways: first, the gaze of L. Jouvet in the mythical scene of “drôle de drame”, which ends with the cult line: “Bizarre, bizarre…”; then the theme of the Sandman, as described by Freud in his book, “A Strange Look”; and finally Zineb, who did not recognise herself in the mirror.
