L’intervention sociale est aujourd’hui confrontée à un ensemble de tensions et d’effets liés aux transformations structurelles, historiques, sociales et culturelles qui impactent les institutions et l’exercice des professions de ce secteur. Les centres sociaux, en tant que structures d’animation de la vie sociale, entendent représenter des foyers d’initiatives portés par les habitants qui s’y trouvent associés. Dans cet article, nous souhaitons rendre compte réflexivement d’un dispositif pédagogique, le « world café », visant à développer les formes de pouvoir d’agir individuelles et collectives, en respectant l’autre dans son altérité et sa singularité biographique.

Social intervention today is confronted with a set of tensions and effects related to structural, historical, social and cultural transformations. These transformations are impacting the institutions and professions in this sector. The settlements, which are structures for the animation of social life, intend to represent centres of initiatives led by the associated inhabitants. In this article, we wish to reflect on a pedagogical system called the “world café”. It aims to develop the forms of empowerment of individual and collective action, respecting the other in his or her otherness and biography.
