Dans le bras de fer qui oppose Washington à Téhéran à propos de la question nucléaire, l’Iran mène une diplomatie tous azimuts pour s’assurer des soutiens dans le monde entier. Un aspect de cet activisme est sans doute le rapprochement spectaculaire avec un certain nombre d’États latino-américains. Ce rapprochement a pris de telles dimensions qu’une « alliance vert-rouge contre l’Occident » a pu être évoquée mais cela ne scelle-t-il pas surtout l’échec de la république islamique à exporter sa révolution dans le monde musulman ?
