L’annonce de la foi est une question à ce point urgente et fondamentale pour l’Église du xxe (et du xxie) siècle qu’elle peut être considérée comme le fil conducteur susceptible d’en relire l’histoire et les actions principales. Posée comme défi déjà par la Mission de France, l’évangélisation prend ensuite la forme d’une demande faite à et sur l’Église, jusqu’à devenir en elle-même la question : l’évangélisation comme forme de l’Église dans notre postmodernité. Le Magistère du pape François assume la question et construit la réponse à travers des métaphores concrètes, capables d’apporter des transformations : une Église « en sortie », une Église des pauvres, un christianisme de la joie, un christianisme qui sait parler et annoncer la miséricorde de Dieu.

The proclamation of faith is so urgent and fundamental a question for the church of the 20th (and 21st) century that it can be considered as the golden thread for interpreting its history and principal acts. Seen as a challenge already by the Mission de France, evangelisation subsequently took the form of a request to and of the Church, until becoming itself a question: evangelisation as a form of the Church in our postmodernity. The Magisterium of Pope Francis takes on this question and builds the response by means of concrete metaphors that are able to bring about transformation: a Church which goes forth, a Church of the poor, a Christianity of joy, a Christianity that knows how to speak and proclaim the mercy of God.
