Depuis quelques années, notre vision du handicap a changé. Dans l’Église, il est encore nécessaire de travailler sur les préjugés à ce sujet pour mieux prendre en compte en pastorale et en catéchèse les besoins spécifiques des personnes porteuses de handicap. Cet article montre la manière dont les Technologies de l’information et de la communication favorisent cette prise en compte en permettant la participation active de tous à la communauté. Des diocèses italiens expérimentent déjà ce potentiel et l’Office catéchétique national italien et le Service national italien pour la pastorale des personnes handicapées poursuivent un travail de recherche-action sur ce sujet. Ceci rejoint les propos du pape François sur l’importance de ces nouvelles technologies.

For the past few years, our view of disability has changed. In the Church, there is still work to be done on the prejudices in this regard, in order that pastoral ministry and catechesis may take better account of the specific needs of persons with disabilities. This article shows the way in which Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can foster this awareness by enabling the active participation of everyone in the community. Italian dioceses have already been experimenting with this potential, and the Italian National Catechetical Office and the Italian National Service for ministry to persons with disabilities are engaged in a research and action programme on this topic. This endeavour is in line with the remarks of Pope Francis on the importance of these new technologies.
