This article is dedicated to André Sibomana, a Rwandan priest who directed the Catholic bimonthly Kinyamateka from 1988 to 1996 while campaigning for human rights before and after the genocide. It shows that Sibomana was the object of a conflict of memory. For some he was a model of integrity; for others, survivors of the genocide in particular, a man fundamentally attached to the Hutu cause.

Cet article est consacré à André Sibomana, un prêtre rwandais qui dirigea le bimensuel catholique Kinyamateka de 1988 à 1996 tout en militant pour les droits de l’homme avant et après le génocide. Il montre que Sibomana fut l’objet d’un conflit de mémoire. Pour certains il était un modèle d’intégrité ; pour d’autres, des rescapés du génocide notamment, un homme fondamentalement attaché à la cause hutu.
