Que se passe-t-il dans ces instants où il est difficile de « trouver » les mots pour exprimer une idée, pour dérouler une pensée et la partager avec une personne ? Quelle part accorder à l’émotion, quelle part au sujet dont il est question ? Le cadre d’entretiens cliniques, mettant à l’épreuve des jeunes gens en difficulté dans un Institut thérapeutique, éducatif et pédagogique, a permis de mettre en évidence la place centrale du « rapport au corps » quand les propos évoquent le rapport à l’apprendre. Partant de l’hypothèse générale que c’est à travers les failles du langage symbolique qu’on peut repérer l’ » incarnation symbolique du sujet désirant » (Dolto, 1984, p. 22), l’auteure montre que la crainte d’appréhender un monde difficile provoque un repli défensif sur le repère le plus fondamental que chacun porte en soi : le corps. La vignette clinique de Xavier1 permet d’étudier comment, quand il s’agit de s’approprier un savoir ou un savoir-faire, le processus d’ » incorporation » prend une place première dans l’imaginaire et combien, quand la sexualité organise l’équilibre psychique, un adolescent est fragile et requiert toute l’attention de l’adulte, pour que ce dernier l’aide à satisfaire son « désir d’être ».

What happens in those moments when it is difficult to “find” words to express an idea, to weave a thought and share it with someone? How much of it is emotional, and how much if it is form the subject being discussed? The framework of clinical interviews, which test underprivileged young people in an Educational, Therapeutic, and Pedagogical Institute, has made it possible to highlight the central place of “relation to the body” when works evoke a relationship to the act of learning. Starting with the general assumption that that it is through flaws in symbolic language that we can spot the “symbolic incarnation of the desiring subject” (Dolto, 1984, p. 22), the author shows that the fear of comprehending a difficult world provokes a defensive retreat to the most fundamental reference point that each of us has: the body. Xavier’s clinical vignette allows us to study how, when it comes to acquiring knowledge or a skill, the process of “incorporation” plays a primary role in the imagination and how, when sexuality organizes the psychic balance, an adolescent is fragile and requires all of an adult’s attention, so that the latter can help the former realize his or her “desire ot be”.
