Cet article présente un travail mené sur plus d’une année, fait d’observation minutieuse et de réflexions approfondies, de création et d’expérimentation d’outils et supports s’appuyant notamment sur les Tice, par un enseignant confronté aux conséquences du handicap massif d’un élève atteint d’une maladie évolutive, la leucodystrophie. La volonté de ne pas renoncer devant l’ampleur des incapacités perçues de l’enfant, la volonté de lui ménager un accès aux apprentissages scolaires et d’abord à la lecture, l’ambition de lui donner sa place d’élève, tout ceci conduit à un patient cheminement de l’enseignant et de l’élève qui apprennent conjointement, l’un de l’autre, à travers difficultés et avancées.

This article presents work carried out over more than one year. It is based on minute observation and solid ideas, creation and experiments with tools and media. In particular, use is made of information technologies designed for education, which are used by a teacher faced with a very severe disability of a pupil with an evolutive disease, leukodystrophy. The determination not to give up in the face of the degree of the perceived handicaps of the child, to give him access to educational skills, first of all reading, the ambition to give the pupil a place of his own, all of this led to patient development on the part of the teacher and pupil. They both learned together, and learned from one another, through difficulties and steps forward.
