Dans un second volet, il aborde le sujet actuel et brûlant des liens soi-disant nécessaires entre religions et violence. Enfin, il évoque le dialogue interreligieux, soulignant qu’espérer la paix, projet humainement réalisable, relève cependant d’un acte de foi en quelque sorte religieux.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Pacem in Terris (11 April 1963), Cardinal Godfried Danneels offers a suggestive re-reading of this encyclical. He follows this by taking up the difficult and highly topical theme of the supposedly necessary links between religions and violence. Finally he evokes inter-religious dialogue, highlighting the fact that hoping for peace, a humanly feasible project, nevertheless proceeds from a kind of religious act of faith.
