Dans son dernier ouvrage, Certitudes négatives, Jean-Luc Marion poursuit son effort d’élargissement de la phénoménologie husserlienne. L’impossibilité de ramener sous l’intuition ce que vise cependant l’intention spirituelle n’empêche pas des affirmations, certaines quoique paradoxales, sur ‘je’ et sur Dieu. La mise en évidence de la ‘redondance’ au travail dans la donation accompagne cet effort d’éclaircissement, qui rend aussi possible une entente profonde et rigoureuse de ce qu’est l’‘événement’. Le concept de ‘révélation’ s’en trouve ainsi lui-même enrichi.

In his last work, Negative Certitudes, Jean-Luc Marion pursues his attempt to broaden the phenomenology of Husserl. The impossibility of bringing under the intuition that which the intention of the mind nonetheless focuses upon, does not prevent some affirmations (certain albeit paradoxical) on the “I” and on God. The highlighting of ‘redundancy’ at work in giving accompanies this effort at clarification ; it also makes possible a profound and rigorous understanding of what “the event” is. So the concept of “revelation” comes to be itself enriched.
