La crise sanitaire a fait ressurgir le vieux clivage entre raison scientifique et foi religieuse. Mais de quelle foi et de quelle raison parlons-nous ? Cet article, fruit d’une conférence d’un pasteur au programme de formation interconvictionnel Emouna, s’attarde sur la nécessité de clarifier les termes du débat. Après avoir explicité les notions, un survol historique met en évidence plusieurs formes de relations entretenues au sein du couple raison et foi. Des précisions épistémologiques supplémentaires conduisent à souligner enfin les apports potentiels réciproques dans ce couple.

The crisis of the pandemic has brought back the old divide between scientific reason and religious faith. But whose faith and whose reason are we talking about? This article is based on a paper given by a Reformed pastor at the Emouna interfaith training programme, it focuses on the need to clarify the terms of the debate. After explaining the concepts, a historical overview highlights several forms of the relationship between the pair of faith and reason. Further epistemological clarifications lead to highlighting the potential mutual input between the two.
