Cet article se propose d’étudier une modalité précise de la politisation des étrangers et immigrés, à travers l’exemple associatif. De fait, après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, période pendant laquelle la place des immigrés connut un certain renouvellement en France, des associations d’un nouveau type émergent : elles visent clairement à peser dans la vie politique française et à influencer le débat public. Elles connaissent cependant un bref âge d’or, dans l’immédiat après-guerre, tandis qu’elles peuvent s’enorgueillir de l’effort étranger dans la Résistance, avant d’apparaître comme des agents de subversion après l’éclatement de la Guerre froide.

This article aims at focusing on a specific modality of immigrant’s politicization through the example of associations. Indeed, after World War II, which is a period of renewal of immigrant’s place, associations of a new type are growing up: their goal is to assure their weight in French political life and to influence public debate. Nevertheless, their golden age is brief, during the post-war years, even if they can claim loud and clear that foreigners were involved in French Resistance; in fact, they became, through French eyes, nothing but international subversive, after the beginning of the Cold War.
