Health care reform in perspectiveWhat is the content of the health-care reform law passed by Congress in March of 2010? This articles explains what the political debate on this issue has been since the early years of the 20th century and then moves on to an in-depth analysis of the main reforms initiated with this new statute. It appears to be an intensely political compromise that nonetheless paves the way for a long-term solution to the access challenges facing the U.S. system: fairness and cost-control.
