La relecture de la pensée de Fabien Eboussi Boulaga montre la capacité du philosophe de se détourner de la vision binaire qui oppose temps et lieux par le biais de l’origine. Si « passé et avenir sont des points de fuite », il faut « penser spatialement » afin d’envisager l’être humain non comme un produit historique, et ses œuvres non comme le résultat d’une « évolution » dans le temps, mais comme le fruit d’une « réinvention » toujours nouvelle. La notion de « topologie » – issue, entre autres, de la lecture boulaguienne du mathématicien interdisciplinaire René Thom (1923-2002) – est analysée dans cet article tout en tenant compte de sa portée épistémologique, politique et sociétale, et ce à partir du rapprochement entre « Topologie et anarchie » opéré par Eboussi Boulaga dans l’essai éponyme présenté une première fois en 2003, puis en 2018, l’année de sa mort.

The rereading of Eboussi Boulaga’s thought shows the philosopher’s ability to turn away from the binary vision opposing time and place through origin. If “past and future are vanishing points,” it is necessary to “think spatially” in order to consider humans not as historical products, and their works not as the result of an “evolution” in time, but as the fruit of a constant “reinvention.” The notion of “topology”—derived from Eboussi Boulaga’s interpretation of the interdisciplinary mathematician René Thom (1923–2002)—is analysed in this paper, taking into account the notion’s cultural, political and societal significance, based on the coupling of “topology and anarchy” made by Boulaga in an essay presented for the first time in 2003, and for the last time in 2018, the year of his death.
