Resumé Bien que concernée par le phénomène placebo au titre de sa définition même, la psychologie tarde à en explorer la dynamique psychique. A partir d’un état de la question et d’un point d’histoire concernant la recherche dans ce domaine, l’auteur propose d’en éclairer cet aspect particulier. En référence à l’hypothèse de l’inconscient, il propose une lecture originale du dispositif des essais cliniques et de la méthodologie qui le fonde. Une perspective inédite permet alors de renommer l’objet même ce champ de recherche bi-disciplinaire, comme relation placebo et non comme phénomène placebo.

Abstract : An overlooked therapeutic relationship: the placebon Even though concerned by the very definition of the placebo phenomenon, psychology is taking a long time exploring its psychodynamic correlates. Integrating historical views on this research topic the paper will provide an up-dated picture on the relationship facets of the placebo. With respect to the unconscious hypothesis, the author proposes an original interpretation of the methodology of the clinical trial studies. This new perspective then enables to rename the very same object of this bi-disciplinary field of research, as a placebo relationship rather than phenomenon.
