Après avoir longtemps constitué un « impensé » politique, la lutte contre les discriminations (LCD) constitue depuis les années 1990 un espace public, avec un dispositif d’ actions et un réseau d’ acteurs. Ce long chemin de traverse suivi par l’ évolution actuelle de sa prise en charge politique toujours inachevée est révélateur de la complexité de cet objet et de la difficulté de son traitement. Le texte présente les principaux résultats d’ une étude conduite en partenariat avec les grandes institutions de LCD, qui permettent de mieux comprendre la nature des relations qui se tissent entre l’ État, les acteurs impliqués sur ce champ et les « citoyens-victimes » qui cherchent à valider les normes juridiques et sociales prohibant la discrimination.

The Fight against Discrimination in France: Construction and Uses of a Public SpaceAfter having long time constitute an “political unthought”, since the 90s the fight against discrimination is a public matter, conducted by a network of actors using the complex system of devices and actions. The long crossing road, followed by the current evolution of its still unfinished political management, reveals the complexity of this object and the difficulty of its treatment. The text is focused on the presentation of main results of a study carried out in partnership with the major LCD institutions and make possible to better understand the nature of the relations that are woven between the State, the actors involved in this field and the “citizens-victims” who seek to validate legal and social norms prohibiting discrimination.
