La refonte législative et réglementaire du travail social en faveur de la participation des usagers à la vie de ses institutions entreprise en 2002, la conférence de consensus du CNAM « La recherche en/dans/sur le travail social » en 2014, la réforme de la formation professionnelle en travail social en 2018 et le développement, depuis 20 ans, d’une recherche en travail social associant l’ensemble des acteurs et actrices du travail social, ouvrent la voie d’une refondation institutionnelle du travail social porteuse d’une nouvelle critique sociale démocratique qui se rejoue dans la parution, à la rentrée 2021, du « Manifeste pour une Discipline Sciences humaines et sociales – Travail social ». Nous proposons d’explorer la perspective d’une disciplinarisation du travail social qui reposerait sur la reconnaissance et la valorisation de l’expertise usagère de ceux et celles qu’il ne convient plus de considérer uniquement comme des personnes bénéficiaires.

The legislative and regulatory overhaul of social work in favour of the participation of users in the life of its institutions undertaken in 2002, the CNAM consensus conference «Research in/in/on social work» in 2014, the reform of the professional training in social work in 2018 and the development, for 20 years, of research in social work associating all the actors and actresses of social work, open the way to an institutional refoundation of social work carrying a new democratic social criticism which is replayed in the publication, at the start of the 2021 academic year, of the “Manifesto for a Discipline in Human and Social Sciences – Social Work”. We propose to explore the perspective of a disciplinarization of social work which would be based on the recognition and valuation of the user expertise of those who should no longer be considered solely as beneficiaries.
