RésuméLe Monde diplomatique, dont l’international a fait partie de son identité dès sa fondation en 1954, a connu une évolution considérable quant au traitement de l’étranger. À partir des années 1970, un recul du francocentrisme a pu être observé grâce au recours de collaborateurs provenant des pays qu’ils couvraient. Cette évolution ne peut cependant pas être dissociée des contraintes organisationnelles et économiques propres aux journal, notamment dans un contexte d’autonomisation face au quotidien Le Monde.

Le Monde diplomatique, with the International being part of its identity ever since its establishment in 1954, has known considerable evolution in foreign dealings. Ever since the seventies, a decline of franco-centrist could be observed due to the appeal of collaborators coming from the countries under coverage. However, this evolution cannot be dissociated from organisational and economical constraints specific to the journal, particularly in an autonomisation context with regards to the daily paper Le Monde.
