Dans cette troisième série d’« Échanges » sur l’engagement des chercheurs, une historienne, deux sociologues et une linguiste prolongent la réflexion menée dans les numéros précédents. Revenant sur la position de la sociologue Nathalie Heinich, les auteurs s’attachent à nuancer son postulat de neutralité engagée, invoquant leur trajectoire personnelle afin de préciser le geste de recherche, pour les uns, l’acte de prise de parole, pour une autre. Ainsi, le débat voit-il un approfondissement des propositions par une attention portée aux fondements des lieux et cadres où se manifeste l’engagement.

In this third series of « Exchanges » on the engagement of the researchers, an historian, two sociologists, and a linguist continue the debate started in the previous issues. Arguing over the sociologist Nathalie Heinich’s position, the authors precise their understanding of her postulate of engaged neutrality by calling upon their personal trajectory to explain their research practice, for the ones, and the public speech for the latter. Thus, the debate comes to an deepen the propositions and to a greater attention towards the foundations of the places and frameworks from where engagement is achieved.
