Dans le fil de l’ Umweltlehre d’Uexküll et du fûdoron de Watsuji, la mésologie distingue le donné environnemental brut ( Umgebung, shizen kankyô) du milieu ( Umwelt, fûdo). La perception relève d’une opération générale, la trajection, selon laquelle le donné environnemental est saisi (par les sens, l’action, la pensée et le langage) en tant que quelque chose ; opération analogue à la relation S/P (le sujet S en tant que prédicat P) en logique.

In the wake of Uexküll’s Umweltlehre and of Watsuji’s fûdoron, mesology distinguishes environment ( Umgebung, shizen kankyô) as a raw material and milieu ( Umwelt, fûdo) as an elaboration of this material by a certain being. Perception is a matter of trajection, the operation through which the data of the environment are interpreted as something by that being’s senses, action, mind and language. This operation is analogous to the predication of S as P in logic.
