RésuméEntre 1940 et 1944, les départements du Nord et du Pas-de-Calais sont rattachés au Commandement militaire allemand de Bruxelles. Dès juin 1940, des tribunaux militaires sont chargés de réprimer les actes d’opposition à la présence de l’occupant, dans le ressort de l’ Oberfeldkommandantur 670 de Lille. Souvent lue comme arbitraire, la répression est, au contraire, fondamentalement judiciaire. Du bilan général (déportations, fusillades et internement) transparaît une réponse allemande au coup par coup correspondant aux grandes périodes d’opposition. Au final, la question de la responsabilité des autorités militaires est ici posée, y compris dans le recours à des procédures extrajudiciaires, appliquées en coordination avec les services policiers de la SS.

The Repressive Policies Implemented by the Militärbefehlshaber in Belgien und Nordfrankreich in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais (1940-1944)Between 1940 and 1944, the departments of the Nord and of the Pas-de-Calais were attached to the German Military Command of Brussels. As early as June 1940, military courts are in charge of repressing the actions of opposition to the presence of the occupying forces, within the jurisdiction of Lille’s 670 Oberfeldkommandantur. Often understood as essentially arbitrary, repression is on the contrary fundamentally judiciary. Through the study of the global sentencing (deportations, executions and internments) one can make out a tit-for-tat response of the German authorities to the major periods of opposition. In the end, the issue of the responsibility of the military authorities must be raised, included when extra-judiciary procedures were resorted to in coordination with the police branch of the SS
