RésuméLa Vie de Lugle et Luglien, composée au ixe ou xe siècle, raconte la peregrinatio de deux frères, fils d’un roi irlandais. Les événements sont censés se passer au viie siècle. Renonçant au trône et aussi à la charge épiscopale, les frères prêchent en Angleterre, puis à Boulogne-sur-Mer. Leur réputation de sainteté est fondée sur leur martyre, infligé par des brigands, près de Thérouanne.

The Legend of Saints Lugle and LuglienThe Lives of Lugle and Luglien, written in the ixth or xth century, relates the peregrinatio of two brothers, sons of an Irish king. The events are supposed to take place in the viith century. Renouncing the throne as well as a bishop’s position, the brothers preach in England, and later in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Their claim to sanctity is founded on their martyrdom, inflicted by highway men, in the vicinity of Thérouanne.
