Paradoxalement, ce fut Mikhaïl Frounzé, bien que non militaire au début du bolchevisme, qui inventa l’art opératif, apportant à l’Armée rouge une doctrine majeure qui lui permit de vaincre en 1945 l’Allemagne nazie. Visiblement, les leçons de l’histoire n’ont pas été retenues par le Kremlin au XXIe siècle.

It seems a paradox that it was Mikhail Frunze, who was not a military man at the beginning of Bolshevism, who devised the operational art which afforded the Red Army a major doctrine that enabled it to triumph over Nazi Germany in 1945. Clearly, the 21st century Kremlin has not learned the lessons of history.
