RésuméL’École doctorale « Recherches en psychanalyse » propose ici le premier numéro de sa revue appelée à témoigner de la vie et des contenus de la recherche en psychanalyse à l’Université, incitant à reparcourir des questions fondamentales car elles touchent au cœur même de l’objet de la psychanalyse.Quand, et sous quelle forme peut-on parler de recherche dans ce domaine ? Comment cette recherche s’est-elle organisée autour de Freud dans les débuts et ne sommes-nous pas plus ou moins tributaires de cette légende des origines ? Quelle place occupe une telle recherche au sein de la communauté scientifique et, en l’occurrence, universitaire ? Qu’attend-on de la clinique : émergence d’un questionnement, mise à l’épreuve d’une hypothèse ou, plus radicalement, terreau d’où la théorie tente de s’extraire tout en restant au plus près de l’exemple qui est « la chose même » ?Toutes ces questions, maintes fois débattues, trouvent à l’Université des échos et des développements spécifiques, mais aussi des écueils qu’il faut tenter de mettre en lumière.

The French Doctoral School entitled ‘Recherches en psychanalyse’ or ‘Psychoanalytical research’ is presenting here it’s first review that aims at collating information on and bearing witness to the life and activities of research into psychoanalysis going on in Universities, thus leading us to readdress some fundamental points that effect the very essence of the object of psychoanalysis itself.In which cases and in which forms can we speak of research in this field ? How did this research become organised around Freud in the early days and are we still more or less tributary to the legend of those origins ? What is the place of such research in the scientific community today and more specifically within Higher Education ? What can clinical practice gain from this : new questionings, testing of hypotheses, or, more radically, a fertile place from which theory can grow up and out, while still remaining intrinsically linked with concrete example which is ‘the thing itself’ ?All these long-debated questions find sounding boards in Universities where they can grow and branch out, but they also find stumbling blocks there, the very nature and existence of which it could be useful to shed light on.
