Soit le décrochage entre l’impératif de la Recherche formulée par les Pouvoirs Publics et les moyens disponibles pour y répondre. Pourquoi la Recherche ? Qu’est-ce que chercher ? Une compulsion ? Comment différencier recherche et pulsion d’emprise ? Comment, ce faisant, éviter la babélisation confusionnelle puis la babilisation infantilisante des « chercheurs » dans une économie pénurique ?

Malaise in the field science should be seen in the same light as that affecting civilisation, as explored by Freud. In other words, it is the gaping divide set up between the government’s expressed order that research be carried out and the total lack of financial support to accompany this desire. Why Research ? What does re-Searching imply ? Is it a compulsion ? How can we distinguish between researching and being led by an obsession ? An how, in doing this can we avoid ‘researchers’ producing a Babel of confused ideas or worse, a cacophony of babyish prattle from out of this state of economic penury ?
