Faisant place à une différence radicale, elle permet de théoriser l’impact de la réalité – notamment sociale et économique – sur le psychisme individuel, mais aussi la pluralité des lieux d’inscription du sujet, qui complexifient d’autant ses échanges avec autrui et accroissent le risque de repli narcissique sur le Un.

Through the notion of incertitude, which contrasts with the deterministic epistemology that is specific to the period when Freudian thought emerged, we offer a rereading of the present-day social bond through the prism of the notion of Two, or duality. Making room for radical difference, it allows for the theorization of the impact of reality – notably social and economic reality – on the individual psyche, but also the plurality of the subject’s loci of inscription, which complexify the exchanges with others and increase the risk of a narcissistic withdrawal into the One.
