The examination of the constitutional framework of public finance in Nigeria, in the light of that existing in the French-speaking states of the same geographical area, reveals the existence of a common legal and financial patrimony. It is characterized, among other things, by similar principles and distribution of budgetary power. However, there are some interesting specificities in Nigeria. They can be inspiring elements for the French-speaking states of the space studied. This is the case, for example, with the regulation of the financial benefits of elected officials and the external control mechanism put in place.
