Est-ce que les théorisations qui décèlent les traits d’une organisation psychique plus archa ïque et la coexistence de différents niveaux de fonctionnement psychique imposent des changements de notre méthode et du cadre classique ? Ou bien pouvons–nous plutôt considérer qu’elles augmentent nos fonctions analytiques en tant qu’elles nous permettent d’élargir la portée et le contenu de nos formulations interprétatives sans changer notre méthode et setting classique ? Cela regarde nos conceptualisations au sujet des critères d’analysabilité et la façon dont nous pensons aux questions du “ positif ” et du “ négatif ” dans le processus psychanalytique.

We pose the question of whether the theorisations that discern traits of a more archaic psychic organisation and the coexistence of different levels of psychic functioning impose changes on our method and classical framework ? Or, can we consider instead that they increase our analytic functions in allowing us to widen the scope and content of our interpretative formulations without altering our classical method and setting ? These considerations have a bearing on our conceptualisations with regard to criteria for analysability and our attitude towards questions of “ positive ” and “ negative ” in the psychoanalytic process.
