Cet article résume le traitement d’une patiente dontl’analyse avait été caractérisée par un transfert latéralparticulièrement clair et marqué. Celui-ci résultait d’une longue périoded’analyse sauvage faite par le mari. Un premier texte clinique a été établien 1962. Dans la présente reprise, les problèmes soulevés dans lecontre-transfert par la particularité que constitue le transfert latéral ontété explicités plus en détail et approfondis.

The lateral transference, random analysis and the counter-transference. Or why make things simple when they can be complicated ? This article summarises the treatment of a patient whoseanalysis was characterised by a particularly clear and defined lateraltransference. The latter resulted from a long period of random analysis on thepart of the patient’s husband. An initial clinical report was establishedin 1962. In the present reconsideration of this case, the problems that arosein the counter-transference as a consequence of the specific nature of thelateral transference are considered in greater detail and elaborated.
