Birth of a libraryThe author relates how the future Sigmund Freud Library came into being, thanks to Marie Bonaparte, and evolved in parallel with the Institute of the Paris Psychoanalytical Society. She describes its development and its influence under the impetus of the technical director, Cécile Marcoux, and the library committee, and thus how it transmitted psychoanalytic theory in accordance with its destiny and its vocation.

Die Autorin berichtet über die Entstehung der Sigmund-Freud-Bibliothek, die Marie Bonaparte zu verdanken ist, über ihre Entwicklung, die parallel zur der des Instituts der psychoanalytischen Gesellschaft von Paris (Société Psychanalytique de Paris) verlief, über ihre weitere Entwicklung und Ausstrahlung unter der Leitung von Cécile Marcoux, der technischen Direktorin, und des Bibliotheksausschusses und schließlich über die Transmission der psychoanalytischen Theorie gemäß ihrer Bestimmung und Berufung.
