Through a case study involving vulvodynia, the author shows how the perception of the body can have a function that is both protective and transforming. The model of hypochondria serves as a basis for a study of bodily endoperception; the clinical study presented illustrates the points of passage between hypochondria and hysteria, and from there between perception and representation. The text questions the relationship between the body and the other, and the way in which it is re-introduced into the transference.

Das Modell der Hypochondrie dient uns als Grundlage für eine Studie der körperlichen Endoperzeption ; die vorgestellte klinische Vignette offenbart die Übergänge zwischen Hypochondrie und Hysterie und somit zwischen Wahrnehmung und Repräsentation. Der Text stellt schließlich auch Fragen zur Beziehung zwischen dem Köper und dem Anderen und zu der Art, wie diese in die Übertragung zurückgeführt werden konnte.
