La question informelle a pris une centralité nouvelle au Pérou au cours des années 1980. Faire porter le regard sur l’institutionnalisation de l’informalité comme une catégorie d’intervention publique permet de saisir les fondements sociaux et professionnels de tentatives de désencastrement politique de l’économie. Illustrant le poids croissant de l’économie dans les campagnes politiques, l’investissement scientifico-politique de la question informelle se traduit concrètement par un cadrage nouveau, essentiellement économique, d’enjeux sociaux plus larges.

The informal question took on a new centrality in Peru during the 1980s. Focusing on the institutionalization of informality as a category of public intervention makes it possible to grasp the social and professional foundations of political attempts to disembed the economy. Illustrating the growing weight of the economy in political campaigns, the scientific-political investment of the informal question takes the shape of a new, mainly economic, framing of broader social issues.
