L’histoire des bibliothèques de psychanalyse peut sembler s’écrire à la marge de l’histoire du mouvement psychanalytique, pourtant ces bibliothèques ont accompagné le mouvement depuis son origine. De la première bibliothèque viennoise à la Bibliothèque Sigmund Freud d’aujourd’hui, un fil de transmission du savoir s’est lentement, et quelquefois douloureusement tissé.

The history of psychoanalytic libraries may seem to be written on the margins of the history of the psychoanalytical movement, and yet these libraries accompanied the movement from the beginning. From the first Viennese library to the Sigmund Freud Library of today, a thread of transmission of knowledge has been slowly, and sometimes painfully, woven.

La historia de las bibliotecas puede parecer escribirse al margen de la historia del movimiento psicoanalítico, no obstante esas bibliotecas han estado presentes en el movimiento desde el comienzo. Desde la primera biblioteca vienesa hasta la Biblioteca Sigmund Freud de nuestros días, un hilo transmisor del saber se ha ido lenta y a veces dolorosamente hilvanando.
