Telling children about the Holocaust: an unresolved pedagogySince its reopening, the Mémorial de la Shoah (Paris) has had many young visitors, for whom the museum staff developed special materials.Historical research, by definition, requires one to set aside emotion and to examine what the documents offer up. And yet this cannot, of course, absolve the researcher from the need to remember. This duality is central to developing Holocaust teaching materials for children, and to examining the child’s experience when studying these materials.
