L’enseignement de l’histoire de la Shoah dans le secondaire : état des lieux et perspectives

But are they necessary to helping students understand this chapter in history ? Have they helped diminish anti-Semitism among today’s youth ? Was everything done to answer the troubling question asked by many students : Why the Jews ? The question that needs to be asked is : What place does Jewish history, from a chronological-philosophical-political perspective, occupy within the French school curriculum ? This needs to be answered in order to seriously tackle the study of the Holocaust in schools.
