« Peuple et Race ». Aux sources de l’antisémitisme de Hitler

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2018. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The chapter “Nation and Race” lies at the ideological heart of Hitler’s work, Mein Kampf. That is where Hitler builds the image of the “Jew” as the enemy and the standard antithesis of the Aryan “of pure race,” the creator of culture. This article examines the issue of the sources Hitler used in this chapter. This is hardly an easy task since Hitler rarely cited the authors who inspired him and always tried to give the impression of original thinking. It has been shown that in the “Nation and Race” chapter, Hitler relied on several racist and anti-Semitic authors, including Houston Stewart Chamberlain, Heinrich Claß, Theodor Fritsch, Dietrich Eckart, Hans F. K. Günther and Alfred Rosenberg. However, he always chose the statements that corresponded with his radical vision of the world, ignoring that which was not in keeping with the prefabricated image he had created for himself.
