Union européenne-Turquie : les effets du projet d’élargissement
Type de matériel :

Since they opened in 2005, the accession negotiations between the European Union and Turkey have had many ups and downs. Despite the agreement reached in late 2015 between Brussels and Ankara on Syrian refugees and the migratory crisis, in recent years European mistrust of Turkey has been reinforced – by Turkish military interventions in Syria, by the aggravation of the conflict with the Kurds, and by an attempted military coup d’état (July 2016) along with its fallout. Today, Turkey seems to be moving decisively away from a democratic trajectory and from any possibility of accession. Even so, the enlargement project has not been without effects, since it has contributed to Turkey’s deeper integration to the global economy.
