Type de matériel :

Some jewish lawyers from Russia stand out as a conspicuous group in France, and some of them appear as the main figures in the sphere of law : Maxime Vinaver, Boris MirkineGuetzevitch, Andre Mandelstam, Alexandre Michelson, Moïse Goldstein, Henry Sliosberg. During the twenties, they took a very active part both on the ground of doctrinal consideration and because of their individual commitments, these law-men joined circles in Geneva which dealt with the Russian League for the League of Nations or the Executive Committee of the private organizations belonging to the State Commission for Refugees, taking concerted action with the spokesmen of the russian refugees. Their involvement in the law trend for which the rights of people and man were considered as the main topic of International Right, is in accordance with their previous political involvements and their individual philosophical beliefs. As an aspect of emigration it also lies within the scope of an identity definition strongly stamped by their belonging to the russian liberal and legalistic intelligentsia.
