The existence of associations has never been given much attention by those in the academic field who have an interest in the economics of social service. Though they have become almost invisible, somewhere between public action and capitalism, the associations are however shown to be the analysers of the social conflicts which run through society.The article aims to shed light on their ambivalent character, somewhere between instruments of the State and projects of collective action.

El hecho asociativo ha permanecido silenciado durante mucho tiempo en el ámbito académico interesado en la economía social. Las asociaciones, poco visibles y atrapadas entre la acción pública y el capitalismo, resultan sin embargo analizadores privilegiados de los conflictos sociales que atraviesan nuestra sociedad. ¿Instrumento del Estado? ¿Proyecto de acciones colectivas? Es esta ambivalencia la que se propone analizar este artículo.
