En vue de repérer des ressources pouvant alimenter la recherche de nouvelles pratiques de l’humain en contexte postmoderne, l’article propose un parcours qui conjugue deux « formes de vie » : la liturgie et la vie monastique, deux chemins d’humanité qui ont été forgés par le christianisme des premiers siècles. Loin de présenter l’une et l’autre comme des « solutions » aux défis de la postmodernité, cette proposition voudrait contribuer à la recherche des moyens d’habiter ce monde nouveau qui advient. C’est pourquoi en vue du nécessaire discernement à opérer pour faire émerger de nouvelles formes de vie adaptées à ce temps, l’article invite à une réinterprétation authentique de la Tradition qui négocie une nouvelle donne, pour entrer dans l’obéissance au plan de Dieu sur l’histoire des hommes.

In order to explore what resources might be available for research into new human practices in the postmodern context, this article invites us to reflect on the connections between two “forms of life”, the liturgical and the monastic, two paths taken by humanity, both of which were forged in the early centuries of Christianity.However, rather than presenting these as “solutions” to the challenge of postmodernity, what the author proposes is to learn from these in researching new ways of living in the modern world as it takes shape.This is why, in order to engage in the discernment that is so necessary in working to shape new ways of life adapted to the present day, the main thrust of the article is to invite the reader to an authentic reinterpretation of Tradition as it confronts new circumstances, so that this reshaping is guided by the principle of obediently submitting to God’s plan for human history.
