L’ouvrage fascinant de Leszek Kolakowski, Chrétiens sans Église. La conscience religieuse et le lien confessionnel au xviie siècle, traite de la christologie de Pierre de Bérulle en la qualifiant de « mystique réifiée ». Ce faisant, Kolakowski relance le débat autour de l’interprétation d’une « théologie mystique » puissamment nourrie d’une spéculation théologique trinitaire dont il apparaît difficile de déterminer parfaitement le but. L’étude proposée consiste à apporter une contribution à ce débat complexe, en analysant la manière dont Bérulle réordonne la taxis trinitaire et radicalise l’autonomie et l’indépendance du Verbe dans sa relation conjointe au Père et à l’Esprit. Cette surprenante théologie supporte des interprétations en tension, sans qu’aucune d’elles ne puisse prétendre à s’imposer univoquement.

The fascinating work of Leszek Kolakowski, Religious Consciousness and the Church : Studies in 17th Century Non-Denominational Christianity, deals with the Christology of Pierre de Berulle by calling it a “reified mystique”. In doing so, Kolakowski relaunches the debate around the interpretation of a “mystical theology” powerfully nourished by a Trinitarian theological speculation whose goal seems difficult to be determined perfectly. The proposed study is to contribute to this complex debate, analyzing how Bérulle reorders the Trinitarian taxis and radicalizes the autonomy and independence of the Word in its joint relationship to the Father and the Spirit. This surprising theology supports interpretations in tension, without any of them being able to claim to impose itself univocally.
